When’s the last time you were zapped with some serious energy and excitement? Want to know how most people answer that question?
Most people say they’re excited and energized when they are in pursuit of a goal that they REALLY want. They don’t want the goal a tiny bit, they don’t sort-of want the goal, it’s not just a casual preference, it’s something they REALLY want.
(I’m hoping to get more zapped at the Loral Langemeier seminar later this month.)
For some people it’s the challenge of building a business that is profitable enough to provide a nice home and lifestyle for their family. Some people want to help others- Wallace D. Wattles (author of The Science of Getting Rich) suggests that you get rich first, and then you’ll be much more capable of helping others in a significant way, for instance without having to be physically present to provide the help.
I ask people this question all the time- what do you really want? It should amaze you that almost no one has an answer to this question. I’m not saying that they don’t have a good answer, I’m saying they have NO answer. The truth is they’ve never seriously thought about it. How in the world does anyone expect to get what they want if they don’t know what they want because they’ve never even really thought about it? (By the way, every high achiever will give you a definite answer to this question before you’re even finished asking it!)
Now I’m going to put you on the spot. (Remember, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger). Do you have an answer to this question? What do YOU really want? I hope you’re not just tip-toeing through life hoping to make it safely to death?
What is it that really excites you, as if you’ve been struck by blue lightning?
